It only seems 5 mins since we first collected the bus in Sept '06, the first week of ownership and we went to Crich Tramway museum for the Beetle Drive, the kids have grown and changed so much, and the van has changed with them. So much done & still so much to do.
Some previous instalments along the way.......
Which over the years all went towards our favourite family 2 week road trip, firstly to Southwold and then onto The Isle of Wight a few years ago......
The trip took it's toll on the bus in more ways than one so it was decided when the time was right to strip it and start a resto. The bus was eventually back on the road towards the end of last summer after a 2yr resto and we hope to be back out on a road trip again this year.
It went for its MOT on Saturday and passed with flying colours!!
Thanks for your votes and kind words towards a humble and well loved family bus.

Woodwork interior is next on the list.
As said above, the bus has changed and grown with the kids, our youngest was only 5 months old when we purchased the bus, so both kids were in with us in the full width R&R when we first started out.
Then he went into a travel cot.
Next he moved into a Westy hammock........

Then I was relegated to the awning whilst Mrs C and the 2 kids all slept in the bus......

And now the kids are that big that when we all go together we mainly sleep in a tent and so now would like a woodwork interior and take the bus into the next phase of development.
The interior used to look like this.....

(I replaced the original steelies for some Empi 5's I used to run on a Beetle of mine nearly 20yrs ago prior to meeting Mrs C and having kids, steelies are now back on after a refurb, cheers Matt)
I hope you agree that it looks a lot better now.

Note that I am reluctant to let go of the original headliner, although pressured from Mrs C to replace with a new one, its staying as it is, warts 'n all.

Nearly 9yrs of ownership, still at it and still loving it!!!
