Old war plane Splitfire part
Old war plane Splitfire part
by Rippers » Tue Jul 14, 2015 10:41 am
Bit of a weird one but not sure where to start. Ever since I was a kid we had what old neighbour identified as a Splitfire Canopy in the garden (we never doubted him as he flew them in the war). Never used to think much of it and my dad used it to keep the frost of his plants
Long forgot we had it.. fast forward to 2015 we found it when clearing the garden
Pic my friend took this weekend at a show
Where on earth do I go about getting this appraised? Couldn't find the Vintage war plane parts category on ebay

Maybe "donate" it for an acknowledgement to a spitfire restoration project...Now what thread do those come under?

Please do this. Import that it goes to someone who will use it (not just put it in a large drawer)

If a donation, I can pass it to the Shuttleworth Collection, Bedfordshire.
It may be unlikely to clean up good enough for use, but would at least be useful for reference/frame dimensions etc - or as a swap option for something they need.
Unfortunately, I don't think it is a pot of gold!
