Sealey Air Compressor leaking

Sealey Air Compressor leaking

Anyone know anything about Sealey Air Compressors?
My one has worked faultlessly for the last 10 years but recently it has stopped holding air.

It seems to be leaking air from this part (taken the cover off)

Hoping its a seal or something. Anyone got any experience on these?

Thanks in advance

Jen bought a similar compressor from an auto jumble where the guy swore blind it was perfect working order.

Got it home, and it would barely create pressure and the motor would continue to run. So I took off that control unit with the four bolts and underneath there's a rubber seal. Jen's had a large hole in it.

Sealey do a repair kit, that has ALL the gaskets and seals in it, but its £30 or something like that. They can't / won't sell it on its own. So we made a seal from a tractor inner tube. Works perfectly now.

Did as you said and unscrewed the top and found the problem.

Was this the same as the seal you found? looks like a rubber diaphragm to me

Spoke to Sealey and they don't sell the gasket on its own and want £40 plus post for the pressure switch which comes with it! What a bunch of ****'s
Must be a couple of quid at most

Think I'm going to buy this and best case swap out the gasket, worst fit the whole thing

Yep, same as I had.

I spoke to a few suppliers, and none of them said the rubber seal came with the switch... So made a new one out of a piece of tractor tyre inner tube.

New pressure switch had a different seal inside so I swapped over the complete unit. Its now working as it was before. Not bad for £7
