Coming of age........

Coming of age........

by Rocket Ron » Sun Jan 24, 2016 5:09 pm
Well, time stands in the way of no man, retirement is looming...
Yep,read it a weep, 65 thus month, where did I all go, shutting the workshop, this will please some but I'll be missed by others..
When I look back on my life, it's been great, seen so much, born at the right time, lived through the sixties and seventies, been a mod, been a hippie, been a drummer in many bands, so many friends, not much family left, just me three sisters...
Heh it's been brill as Eddy would say.
Got married to a great girl whom I kept hanging about for 25 years but did the decent thing last Xmas and married her.
Had many a great time within the club and hope to have more years enjoyment too.
Ang and me are going to do a it of touring in the van, continue to tinker at home with our projects, wish me luck!

It's painted........once I've finished the last van I'll use the workshop for a month refitting doors, wings etc.
Interior is booked for August...earliest I could get, then up to Nick at Redtec for the engine fit.
Car looks stunning..

Happy Birthday young un....
I am still working...and I am nearly two years older than you... i work for myself and while they continue to pay me to do what I enjoy...I will continue to take the shilling!
My wife is five years younger than me and would not have me round the house making the place untidy...and as I say..

"You are only as old as the woman you feel!"

Enjoy what ever you choose to do...
I am working still just to fund my passion...to earn money to pay someone to do my vans properly..
Thought you were selling the wordly goods n chattels

Hope to see you soon to kick away your walking stick..
You old codger!

Thanks guys, to answer Graham, I'll still be doing a bit but from home, I still have my 67 to put together and the 911.
What with the garden, travell, tinkering, shows, decorating, etc, I think I'll be well catered for.
Oh, I've just bought a 56 Lamberreta 150D, then there's the Raliegh Wisp to play with...........in a word..sorted.
I'm still going to be buying and selling parts as and if stuff turns up, na, we are a happy couple, no debt, mortgage paid, money I the bank....com on what's not to like, and if I get the chance I may pick up the sticks just one last time, I'm my life it's a case of never say never....

The SSVC holds a great bunch of lads and lasses.....

Good to hear!
So may people used to retire with no idea what they would do...
While you have health...you have everything..
Hope you are fully mobile again...rememeber you are not eighteen any more!
Look forwards to seeing you and abusing you in person!
Keep well but more than anything keep the grey cells busy...
Now I am looking for a.. commission in it for you...?

Happy Birthday Ron (for last week). Been a pleasure doing business with you and you're certainly one of the good guys in the scene. Hopefully I'll bump into you at a show before you do one and bugger off round the world

Cheers, Lee.

thinking about taking things easier myself Ron, reoccurring back problems, knees shafted amongst other things. :( When you officially handing the keys in cos I'll bring some cakes down and perhaps drive through that barrier in celebration, if of course I'm not on my yacht in Monaco with a couple of super models

John, I've told you before, your not welcome, and as for the cakes, yes that would be nice if you bring them back, when we said help your self, I didn't think you'd take the lot, this upset hog and the barrier has now a sencer on it,this will pick up your vehicle number and set the trap in motion, be aware, I can not be held responsible for the damage this will do to you and your van if you try to be friends with us again.
Young children have been frightened and mothers fear you will speak to them, shame, you were such a nice girl once, I liked you like that, get help mate...
