Heavy and thick. Close to an inch if I recall. The cast alloy ones also have a tendency to crack at the bolt holes.

I had some of butty's adaptors on my 66 and they were great, but when I spoke with him about them he said they were too expensive to produce any more so as a result he no longer made them
