Take the bus to work

Take the bus to work

by Max Last » Tue Mar 17, 2015 8:20 pm
This morning my work van decided to have a tantrum, so to teach the useless lump it's not really needed I chucked various power saws, battery drills and the like in the kombi and took that. I think I'll be doing it again!

Nice pic.

Just be careful if you have classic insurance. You won't be covered if you're using it for work.

Not if you're a tradesman.

Some policies charge an extra premium for commuting - ie. simply going to and from work. Social, Domestic and Pleasure cover does not necessarily include this aspect. You need to check your policy wording carefully. Business use is different altogether and will generally command a higher premium.

Classic policies normally exclude everything except S,D&P.

As long as it is insured, the police won't be interested in your usage. It's the insurance company you have to worry about - if you make a claim and they figure out that you were commuting or using it in connection with your business activities, they will refuse to pay out.

Also, you would be guilty of making a false claim, in a signed document, which might then result in the police being alerted. Not worth the risk, IMO.
