Dormobile kitchen
by Le Counte de JAYFOR » Sun Mar 19, 2017 9:05 pm
I've gone and done it and really happy how it's turned out. Bare metalled and lacquered as I've tried to give it a hamerite finish but with all the stuff taken out of paints these days the finish was not to my liking. Just gotta get some panels cut for the gaps on the ceiling where it meets the headliner.
Not to everyone's taste but different.
Graham Type21, have you got any more pics of the eascoLyte lamp is mounted? Are they all next to the last side window near the cooker?
Also cut my drawers down to fit.

Looks good mate. Reminds me of a 1940''s sea plane
Did you use anything on it before the lacquer ?
Cheers, Lee.

Yes Joe... the lamp is fixed above the centre window on the long side. The last fixed window.Graham Type21, have you got any more pics of the eascoLyte lamp is mounted? Are they all next to the last side window near the cooker?
I will post...
What year is the bus?
Wide hatch 63 64.
Have easco lyte pictures of location.
In Devon models the light you have was fitted from 1962 in Devon Caravette models.
The light was mounted above the location for the dinette table so it lit the table.
On the eascolyte you have the invertor was a separate box and on Devon Caravette this was hidden in the boxing for the rear table holder on the driver side with a push button switch on the face of the large table holder.
I know you have the light body but do you have the invertor?
Off to dig pictures out.
Corey Bloom has a 1963 Canadian made Dormobile and had/has an advert running on thesamba.com looking for such a light and box.
On the Canada Dormobile the light is mounted in the same position as the Devons but the invertor is mounted on the B post above driver head height.
On the Cant rail here
Dormobile Canada location
Devon 62 location

Well, as you may know G, mine is a microbus 67, but I've gone for the Dormobile interior as it suits my camping requirements and will be keeping it for quite a while. I do have the large table but also double doors so don't think I'll be fitting it. So the light will be for display purposes only for now so as I won't be having a table, I may fit it near the kitchen. Will have a look at the pics when you have time........

Could still fit over a door...
Can get a modern 12v fluor light and Rob the internals to run from 12v and mount hidden in a hobby box. The Tubes run on 12v or 6v because the high voltage comes from the invertor.
I am making a transplant for Jamie at the moment..

That would be an interesting thing to see when you've finished it.

I have spoken to Corey - yes I believe he is interested.
He says he has tried to communicate with you..
I sympathise, I find it difficult at the best of times.. Even when standing in front of you
But you did help with collecting and forwarding a very precious parcel for which I am extremely grateful.
Pictures and details of table please.

I like the kitchen
You will have to keep it suitably shiny, in a not too shiny way.....

I know it's been difficult, but since Trump came to power I couldn't face Coreytype21f wrote:I have spoken to Corey - yes I believe he is interested.
