Just to let everyone know I have changed my username (thanks Miles) as I had sold the 57 about 4 months ago and I now have a few projects it was a bit silly to have the old name.
My number plate over here is "SPLIT 1 " so I thought that was a better name as I dont know what I will be getting on the road first.

Going OK, got the lads coming round on Saturday to chop up a 75 bay, Its a nice one but I only paid $500 or about 200 quid for it, going to use the 1600tp engine and hubs and front arms and discs, also the booster.

By the way, the chrome bar on the front is for carrying your water bag.
The rear taillights are from a Holden EJ (60's aussie car)
Has the original gearbox ect but no engine.

Just found this, god was it that long ago??
I gave the 55 to my mate Dave when I bought the 13 window deluxe, which I have since restored and then sold, it has been like 9 years.
Now I dont have any splits but in the middle of doing a bug

Finished the Double cab and went to Hessich in it ,but when i got to BBT i fell in love with a Westy SO23 , so bought that and then sold the Double can in Hessich to a nice German fella
Big engine beetle hell yeh
