Hi everyone, having gone to the MotoGP this weekend, I found myself driving back without a wing mirror (my mate had snapped it off trying to look at his sunburned bonce... ).

I *did* have those little round ones on both sides but that made pulling out for overtaking a little hairy, especially with 100's of bikes around... (I got him to stick his head out of the window and give me a thumbs up when it was safe...)

Now I have loads of questions buzzing around in my heeed!

Do I replace it with an elephant ear or go for small and round again?
Should I replace both with whatever style I go for?

I just don't know...

Your thoughts, comments and suggestions please!

overtaking!!!! what's it like?? I've heard it spoken about in hushed corners but never really hoped it could be true!!
I'd go for what you had already unless you really did not like them.

Small round ones every time as far as I am concearned, watch out for the quality though!

Surreywasp, I've only just discovered overtaking myself!!!

I replaced a few bits of the ignition system to fix a problem and found some more power!!!

I can now hit 60 mph...

Next step learning how to tune the engine!!!

As for the mirrors, someone mentioned convex ones to me recently, does anyone know about them?

Go for the round one's again I've just changed from elephant ears and for some reason although smaller they seem to be loads better

Well at least the bus has lost it's complex about big ears

yup, i'm going back to the round ones (if i can't get a pair of truck ones) after having them and then changing to elephants :el'crapo:

little ones are best and we tow a Puck no probs (but are RHD)
however the feature cover bus (SO42) in next Camper and Commercial mag solved the LHD poor vision and period look by using chrome motorbike mirors which look totally like a period mirror only are just a little bigger and are much nicer than the elephant ear thingies!!!

My swiss army bus has the convex lenses,work very well. No idea where you get them though, sorry

I have been considering motor cycle mirrors for some time now. glad to hear it can be done.
