SSVC member Paul Burns just called and asked for help. He has broken down in his 13 window Deluxe just outside Annecy in France. He's at a campsite in a small town called Alex. Camping Ferme des Ferrières 74290 (map link below) and he's stuck there with his wife and kids.

It sounds like fuel/carb problems, he said it was firing, but when you accelerate it dies. Accelerator jet? The carb has been off recently It's a regular Solex 30 PICT on a 1500SP motor. He said he's not too great with mechanics and would appreciate some help as the recovery people are only interested in towing him away, he'd like to get the problem fixed where is is and continue under his own steam.

in line fuel filter? same thing happened to me once £2 in line filter was blocked...... bin it if it is and try again...... hope it gets sorted what ever it is..

Nick, I asked Paul to check the filter. He said it was fitted new recently. Haven't heard an update from him since this morning.

Cheers Fred, Jean-Daniel? Paul just told me he has the bus fixed already!!

There were a few things the carb was taking in air from the bottom, the lead from the coil was loose and causing the dizzy cap to missfire and a couple of other loose bits and pieces one of the studs holding the carb on was pulling out, so quite a mixed bag.
