GUTTED.... wrecked by a mindless idiot, INS SETTLED

Had the misfortune on wednesday to meet a wreckless idiot driving too fast for his ability and wrecking my bus.
We were doing a wedding and transporting four bridesmaids to the service before returning for the bride and father.
Just turned off the A361 and rounding a right hand bend when this idiot appeared ahead travelling at a ridiculous speed on full lock
trying to stay on his side of the road.
I could see he was understeering and drifting to my side, I'm shouting at the bridesmaids "he's going to hit us" while trying to steer left
without rolling into the ditch on my side when BANG, straight down the side of the bus.
After stopping and checking everyone was ok i get out and look back and he's dissapeard, I run back towards the junction and there he is
stopped with his front trye ripped off, in my opinion he was going to do a runner, he was insured but driving a wreck of w reg focus.
Police turned up only after I said the road was blocked (white lie) all they did was breatherlize us,check we were insured, and gave us a pen and pad to
exchange details. then off they went THANKS for nothing.
A nice passer by gave the bridesmaids a lift to the service and the hotel arranged for a white rolls to take the bride, and she made it in time.
Eventually i managed to have my trailer brought along to recover the bus and we trailored it the service and arrived as the wedding party were doing the photo's.
They were more than happy we made it as the bride had booked specifically for the photos with the bus.
So off loaded it and gave them the photo shoot they had planned, even ones with the damage after all it was now part of the day's events.
At the end of the day nobody was hurt and the bus can be repaired but when I first saw the damage it brought tears to my eyes and I dont mind admitting it.
I know this bus isn't everyones cup of tea but my wife and myself are devasted, not to mention the brides we now have to let down while we try and get her fixed.
If anybody can point us in the direction of a specialist repairer fairly local to northants we would be very gratefull
Now I'm going to have another large glass of red wine, here's the pics

Gutted for you, There are a lot of people who will sort it! Some who no doubt have been in touch, I could only advise on painters though, Make sure you pick the repairer!

Very sorry to see the pics.
I assume that was a thin repro rear bumper - scary what has happened to it!

Something none of us would ever want, and we would all be as gutted as you.
I'm glad everyone was ok, and the bride had her special day.

Oh no Snappy! Gutted for you, what a nightmare.
At least you all managed to walk away un injured & the bridal party were sorted quickly & off the road.
As you said, your vans not everyone's taste & Im not a big fan of pink, but we camped next to you at last years Vintage Nostalgia & we were blown away by your bus. The air brushing was stunning & your set up was lovely. I hope you are able to get it repaired back to the quality finish you had.

Yeah was looking at how it ripped off the mounts / bent in half. Definite got to give the chassis rails a good look at that nothing cracked and is hidden under chassis paint.paul_f wrote:Very sorry to see the pics.
