Wing mirror options - what mirrors work/look best?
by Doka Dave » Tue Jan 07, 2014 1:01 pm
Hi All,
I currently have truck mirrors fitted on my doka after I got fed up of the ridiculously useless, tiny "make-up mirrors on sticks" that came with my bus.
Thing is, even though they work, I don't really like the look of the truck mirrors so I'm looking for ideas.
What mirrors work best for other bus owners? What are my options?
All help appreciated,
thanks,
DD

Truck mirrors are by far the best if you have a commercial vehicle. Let's see a picture of your double cab with 'em on - I bet it looks great really!
Elephants ears are more practical than the standard round mirrors (had Elephants for years, but I personally don't like the look of them).
I also prefer harp style arms to standard arms.
It's all personal taste of course...

I have small wide angle discs stuck on the bottom of my little round mirrors and they help with the blind spot enough to be safe on motorways etc.
For reversing I prefer a head out of the window anyway.

Gotta say I like the make up mirrors, never found them a problem either. Mind you I've always had plenty of windows to look through when pulling out of junctions etc

I'll get a pic up soon, I'm just wondering whether I can adapt the arms that the mirrors are on to make them shorter and bring them in a bit as they stick out a bit (like they're supposed to I guess!)
What about aftermarket mirrors? Are there any other slightly bigger options available that give you more of a decent viewing area?
The ones I have came from 56Deluxe.

Thing is, with the hoops and cover on in the back, I can't see anything behind me so I need my wing mirrors to be good ones.
With the cover off, I can see fine but I need it on sometimes and that's why I bought the truck mirrors to give me better vis.

Sorry mate I have no idea what they are off, they fitted straight on the arm.
They origanily came from surrysplit via brianjbox both on here. The first might be worth contacting.
They are so much better than the original powder puff mirrors fitted. Where they are curved I can see the rear wheels and top off the canopy.

Thanks, I'll contact them.
So you know what I mean when I say you can't see a thing out of the back when you have the canvas on then?
Nice crew cab btw

Not so much mirror option but we are going to produce these splitscreenl mirror arms -- originally made for commercial / emergency vw's to give better visibility.
Photo is our first sample what do you think?
