One of the best fun weekends I've had in ages.

Ben, sorry I didn't twig who you were straight away. You don't look so much like 'Pob' in real life.
I'm desperately trying to fill the next mag over the next two weeks now, and will give Vic Farm plenty of pages. Got a ton of photos, but rather than one persons show report, how about we just run short snippets from all of you? I'll get as many as possible to try and get as broad a viewpoint as possible. (Obviously a couple of dozen quotes all saying "great weekend" wont work, but you get the idea. Keep posting them and I'll keep pinching them )

We hadn't been to VF or SH before and having invited our good friend and his 2 to children to join us with our 2 kids it was going to be a mission, as he has never been to any VW event before.
For me it mean't getting my 2 buses sorted over the whole of the Easter weekend in the heatwave we were having and missing out on some perfect camping weather, so all this extra work and preperation had better be worth it.
So after a 1/2 hour driving lesson in a LHD split with someone who has never even sat in a split, EVER, we got loaded up and left Thursday evening for a 3 hour drive
So you know whats its like when you are on a shake down on your own bus after a rebuild, re-work etc, not only did I have this with the one I was driving I had to worry about my other pride and joy behind me.
We arrived with now problems, but boy did I feel it when we turned off the motors, 2 or 3 bottles of cold ones went down in seconds
After all this I must say we had a fantastic, well chilled weekend and my friend is converted, wants his own bus and is already asking when we are going on the next one
The drive home was flippin great
Thank you SSVC, as without you these events and so many cool buses would not be in such a large gathering with so many good people

We decided to drive to VF less then 30 hours before our ferry left Duinkerke after we found out the weather forecast improved 'enough' to spend 3 nights in a tent.
Since it's a long drive (approx 375 miles) we choose to pack the car iso the 1967 SO-42 since this event is for us all about being there and not about the travelling there.
Due to time limitations we spend the night from thurday to friday traveling to arrive friday morning at 10:00 AM on Victoria Farm to pay a suprise visit to Neil and just in time for the royal kiss.
The rest of the weekend was mainly catching up with familiar faces from the previous VF visits which resulted in lots of laughters en great seedling entertainment in the big tent (Thanks to Susie and Rose!).
It was nice to be live at the AGM and participate in the never ending applause wave for Neil when he stepped down as president. Lots of success to the new president.
After NOT picking up the price for the furtest traveled SSVC member (ha, ha) it was time for cooking en enjoying the tunes from the Ska band.
Sunday was ofcourse themed "Stanford Hall" and we ended up as passengers in a 1960 23-window (thanks Carl) in the middle of the packed convoi. After stolling the shiny cars, stalls and SSVC field 2 times we found ourselves buying a Khayam tent without opening the tentbag (thanks again for the transport, Mike). Out of the blue Neil mentioned that he arranged another ride back to Eddie's campsite. I was thinking "What more to wish for than a 1960 23 window?" We were welcomed in Graham's 1954 just restored 23-window. This was a very nice experiance.
The evening ended with winning the quiz night and an auction that proved to me that Neil missed a career as stand-up comedian. I did not made it till the end of the auction since our alarm clocks were set on the next morning at 07:00 AM with a full day of traveling ahead.
On mondaymoring we got a hand with putting down the tent and shook hand with the friend that took the effort the get up as early as we did.
The rest on the day can be summerized in "pedel to the metal" and "5th gear all 375 miles". Tired but full with good memories we arrived in the Netherlands (not be confused with Holland) at 18:30.
Thanks to the SSVC commity en members to make this happen.

What a top weekend !! Only my 2nd time attending Vic farm ( after spending most of last year with my head in the engine bay) this year made me realized what I missed. The whole family thoroughly enjoyed it start to finish, it was good to catch up with some familiar faces and meet a lot more new ones

We put up our new / second hand Khayam yesterday in the garden and it works out great.

It was our first VF/SH and like others a last minute decision - Caroline's birthday treat. Arrived on cold Friday evening and woke up to the sunshine, surrounded by old and new friends and Jayfor's kilt
What a great weekend, loved every minute of it especially the quiz (we were part of the Eccles team - who really won
) and Neil's priceless performance as auctioneer
Sothebys need him on the payroll if ever they have a vinyl sale............................
Well done to all who organised and ran it - we'll be there next year and we'll help out too
