Yep, it varies from TT to TT as to where you should put them, but the most recent devices you just copy it into the map folder. I haven't updated it for a year or so, so might be a bit out of date. One of those things I keep meaning to do.

I do not use sat nav so I have always relied on the SSVC Organiser/Handbook and used it in conjuction with the Membership list (we used to produce! for members) if I had a breakdown or needed assistance.
The club tried a seperate 'Assistace list' which was a list of members willing to assist (even if it was just by providing a cup of tea and a friendly face) but with internet access this died a death long ago.
Maintaining such a list as the one in the current 'new' Handbook is very time taking and maybe this thread will generate feedback to the committee so that info gathered can also be available in print for members without sat nav or access to the internet when they are on the road.
Just my thoughts
Terry
Are we supposed to get a handbook then when we join? All I ever got was the latest edition of the club mag

It might be worth adding me to the list. I work mobile, so you might get lucky if I am around.
I don't do recovery, but do keep some parts in the van, you never know.
Surrey & Hants area.

As I have mentioned on another post, I am (proudly) a luddite. I know what a Tom Tom is but what the f*ck does POI mean? Seems that technology or not, we have to endure bloody abbreviations for every other item/system/phrase we encounter. 'LOL' at the end of a message makes me want to punch the author in the face, no matter how amusing their tale may have been. My now 11yr old son asks why I write text messages in longhand and, shock horror, use punctuation!! 'Because otherwise it is just wrong' is my answer, which I do believe is actually a rather poor answer grammatically.

There is a free desktop application that might be usefull for adding the POI's its called T.Y.R.E designed by a motorcyclist you can create your own POI's for export to TomTom or other formats, you can setup multiple POI's in one file and you can also create routes as well with stopping points which is handy for cruises etc.

Hi. Not sure if you are still working on one for Europe, but I think it would be great. I'm on a grand tour of Europe in Lily, my 63 splittie and recently found myself in a spot of bother with the electrics in here. Anything like this is beyond me, and I'm quite happy to put my hands up and say it needs a mans look! Trusty google wasn't bringing up any vw repairers in the area, so I had I spend my day going from caravan shop to garage and back again, before I was finally recommended to a place called Freisland Krevers -
http://www.mooney.nl
who were really helpful in getting me back on the road.
So basically - if you are looking at doing one for Europe, make sure you get these guys in The Netherlands on the list!
I'm away for 5 months so sure to need more help along the way, so I am happy to post details in here?
Thanks
Amy & Lily!
