Yeah, guess its a 70`s Fleetline 15 window converted into a 23.

It must be a fleet line has a pressed badge in the nose.

how come on above the engine theres a round removable cover? is that a fleet line thing?

It would have had a water cooled engine conversion at some point, a common mod is Africa or South America. They cut the inspection hole to make servicing easier.

Yep...I was a little nervous about making that observation ..
But a Fleetline in South Africa sound logical..

Its a 75 Fleetline that I am putting in A scooby engine into it. The Fleetline was very solid from the start so a good base for such a project. The Samba roof was a conversion kit from Columbia.
I always wanted this set up, Samba walk through but could never afford an original. Also to tear up a german made Bus and stick a scooby in it, is a bit of a shame *The engine access was a request from me in case i wanted the higher powered Turbo set up, so a RHD 15 window Fleetline was the best starting point. No one really minds if these get modded, and I wanted to see what you can do to a fleetline and how the end product could look.
I Like them as you can pick them up in such good condition for a great price, because of the lesser demand.
This Bus is not a restoration job but a customisation, so a completely different approach. Im not going to change the pressed in badge at the front as I regard this to be the DNA proof that shows just exactly what this Bus started as. I was told West Coast could if I wanted cover the fleetline up, But that is definately not what I wanted to do. Fleetline and proud !.

Any updates on this? Has it made it to the UK yet? If so, did you have any problems with getting it over? I'm still interested in dealing with East Coast Classics but would like to know more...

I've been getting a bus done as we speak. No issues at all, yes, hard to contact at times but what do you expect on the other side of the world. All is good so far and I'm always provided with plenty of updates etc.

My experience so far is Oliver is a good guy but is not so much a buisness man. I would love to have a set price and a set schedule for the work. This they have been unable to do. It just leaves me the customer feeling fustrated. My most recient E mail indicated a huge rise in prices as they no longer do budget restorations. It was the first i heard that I had actually booked a budget restoration.
