matt gill restoration, updates ** now with pictures**

we are now firmly in new premises :D Historically i have been real busy through show season and just before for last few years, and not really able to keep up with demand. So why not take the opportunity to get all your work done in plenty of time over the winter and be on the road for start of season. We are quite busy but will do out best to accomodate you
Cheers Matt

Glad you got moved across the courtyard ok Matt, with a bit more room for manoeuvre.

Less faff loading and unloading vehicles too.

Feel free to post any pictures you take of the work you're doing on my 59 panel in here, or on your site if it helps people get a handle on your quality of work.

See you soon.

Nik

Here's one Matt has carried out work on over the past few years.

Image

Some of the work included the replacement of outriggers, jacking points, top hat sections, cills, cargo floor sections, cab floor sections, lower panels & pillars, safari windows and brackets, cups of tea, light hearted banter, general p1ss take, butt of all jokes, holes and repairs all over the place, burnt foot, bulk head repairs, heater tube, the list goes on & on........

Not too happy with this yet i need to fettle the welds a little better in the corners

as you can see from the pictures i aim to make my repairs look as 'factory' as possible by taking a little extra time making little panels rather than just plating everything. I try and use a spot welder where possible also to create a factory finish as i have done on Nik's sill

I originally thought this was the result of something riding up behind the front tyre (maybe even evidenced of an impact that was the underlying cause for the OSR wheel parting company with the hub and existing through the rear corner 8O  ), but looking again, I now believe it was a structural failure whilst being jacked!.

Looks like it might have been driven for a while whilst like this too.

A bit of a mess, but you've made a nice job of resolving it Matt.

Cheers.

Nik.

Only really starting to put Jonnycj's bus back together now its been a nightmare straightening it out from previous crash repair and poor welding but getting there now its started going back together ... in the right place. The sill is only being fitted at the front due to damage rather than rust obviously i would usually repalce the whole thing but in this instance it is not needed

the original a post was beyond repair due to bad repairs and being badly out of shape so i replaced the middle of it allowing me to put the hinges back where they should be and get rid of the Kustom repair done by previous company. The only one we could get was an early one so i had to fabricate the door check strap bit

Matt - good to see you today and thanks for all the hard work on my bus. That really is a cracking workshop setup you've got there !

Just wish I'd found you first, would certainly have saved me a lot of hassle and a ton of cash

Cheers

Matts work was excellent on my van, a real pleasure doing business with some that actually gives a sh*t about what they are doing and the end results.

I shall be returning in the near future. :D
