My Resto if anyone interested :-)

My Resto if anyone interested :-)

by Reuben » Fri Aug 15, 2014 12:19 pm
Pretty much there now. Thanks to members that have helped me out along the way, special thanks to Jim Merrin. Looking back I did ask some pretty dumb ass questions!

Quite a bit of negativity towards pretty splits and of course the 'Samba stigma' but hope you guys like her. Just for the record, I'm not rich. Majority of funding was insurance money which is now on the road rather than sitting in the bank. Got to be honest a couple of wobbly moments along the way where I was going to give up and sell, but taking a couple of weeks out did the trick to get my enthusiasm back up and carry on. Dedicated to my Mum.

Hope you like, look forward to meeting a few people at Busfest :-)

Nothing wrong with a pretty split, especially an orange one.

Superb looking bus and a great restoration, look forward to seeing it in the flesh at Busfest.

Great work and well done, you won't wipe that smile off your face for years!

Firstly congratulations on your bus! It's fantastic!

Loving the creativity and the high level of finish.

The Lush theme is great, and you really have produced a gorgeous looking bus there!

Watch out for Dan claiming royalties!!

Also congratulations on your flip builder thingy. It presents your resto very well indeed.

Last but by no means least.....your sentiment to your mum. Nice one. :thumbleft:

That looks amazing, love the flipper book to cover the build too :D

Have you got any pics you can put up on here?, they are a little small to view from the book on my screen as I cant make Busfest to see it in the metal :( .

Great Dedication too

Congratulations on your excellent resto man, you don't need to justify a thing to anyone. Bloody great work and a lovely bus!!

I'm glad you battled the demons to keep the project alive. I've been through a few self doubting moments over this last year and the van very nearly became the casualty.

Kudos to you.

Sorry, I know I'm bit hammered, but I love the positivity in this thread. Nothing to do with anything really. I'm hammered coz it's mu birthday, and that doesn't help, but after all the mud slinging in various un named threads, isn't it great to see a thread about the joy of bringing another van back to life?????

Awesome Man!

Did the Chain send you down to the shop as a robot for 10 fags ?

For those who aren't aware of the above I suggest you listen to their music. Quality stuff !

Ha, no. But I did end up on stage with them - there was a bit of a stage invasion and being 46 and all, I though I'm just the right age for that sort of caper....

Is ams as robots. :D

It was a mental night indeed....
