Hessich, bad camberg & ??? Advice please

by mark sirett » Thu Sep 04, 2014 6:52 am
Hi
I'm starting to plan a euro trip for my 40th next summer.
Can anyone give me some advice please?

I want to visit the Porsche, VW and Karmann museums
And take in one or two shows. I can't find the dates for hessich yet and is bad camberg usually the week before?

Cheers
Mark

Hessisch is every 4 years - the next one is in 2017.
Camberg is every 4 years as well - the next one is next year, 19/20/21 June.

A few of us lot will be heading the European Bug-In again next year in Chimay. It's the weekend after Bad Camberg so may do both shows.

Thanks guys that's a great help.
We are at the leave wrangling stage so far. (Trying to be ahead of the game)
We'll ask for the week before and after Bad Camberg and see what happens.
Does Bad camberg sell out?
Is there an SSVC site of choice? This is the one you camp near not at eh?
Is there a BBT cruise or is that to Hessich?
I did read the VW museum was shut one week day any ideas which one?
Same for Osnabruck and Stuttgart I wonder.

The "general" site for camping us Lahn camping at Limberg. It's a lovely site in the Lahn valley on the edge of the river with a small walk into Limberg. We had a lovely week there last time as the weather was stunning and you can go canoeing on the river etc. then at the end of the week its a mellow cruise to Chimay with a relaxed mind and a sun tan.

Cheers, Lee.

To answer your question as to whether Camberg sells out, there is no admission charge/ticketing (cf. most British shows!), you just wander in. Same too for Hessisch.
So your only concern will be campsites/accommodation and logistics.

In my opinion Hessich is far superior to camberg on several levels. I'd been to camberg before but Hessich blew me away and after speaking to others I'm not alone in that opinion.

I totally agree I thought camberg was a poor show a line up of some average vws on what looks like an old football field. I'd opt for EBI and the bbt hospitality the night before the camberg cruise.

Yep your right Camberg was a huge let down for me it was the roadtrip that made it , if you only ever want to do one Euro show make it Hessisch unbelivable, campsite is great as well plenty of loos and showers and extremely clean cant wait for the next one but untill then its gonna be Euro Bug In
