Been looking at these. http://www.mytyres.co.uk/cgi-bin/rshop. ... p=R-209714

got to get it sorted soon, we're on tiny tyres at the moment with low profile, as its been raised up since they were put on!

This was when the front had been raised and the back was where it was when we'd bought him:

According to what I understand vw buses should on 106R reinforced wall tyres like the lassa transway 15" tyres.
There was a thread on full height radial 15" tyres.
I have fitted 14" reinforced lassa transway tyres a to my 64 and was looking and trying to understand for my 15" wheels.

Just go for a tyre with a 8ply sidewall, this is a commercial vehicle rated tyre. Correct sidewall height size is a 195/80R15 or 195R15 (they are the same size). Passion4`s bus above has whiteband 8ply commercial tyres, very cool 8)

The tyres that ShutterbugUK has put up a link to are not 8ply commercial tyres and the sidewalls will not be as stiff.

ShutterbugUK - I would not recommend fitting 195/80`s to the beetle rims that are on the rear on your bus. The beetle rims are narrower than the bus rims you have on the front and the 195`s will be too wide for them. You`ll firstly need to get a matching set of wheels, all bus type.

That's an odd one on the back that came with the camper, it was put back on by the spray shop even when we had the other 4 wheels. The proper set we have all have the big holes.

Will look up commercial tyres. If anyone has any links please share ;)

They look good....I did try hard to describe them fairly. ..They have come up well! I took the clips off because they were all odd sizes and shapes and coated in plastic.
Andy the machinist has made up tooling to fit standard clips with a hydraulic press and I was going to have clips fitted all round...But then decided to stay with my 14. ..
Pleased they look so good!
Cheers

Found these in a make we know. Would they be ok?

We don't want to be driving all the way to Vic Farm on our low profile tyres!

Please post if you do. I found that advert a couple of weeks ago, and I've not found cheaper for a brand whose name I knew.

My only concern with that advert was that they say 'DOT2012' in the specificity field. The alt-text says that's the year of manufacture, so they're already three years old? Is that usual - do tyres normally sit that long prior to sale? Might be why they're cheap?

Didn't manage to find them cheaper and I'm the bargain ninja. A lot of sites I found had 2013 stock, so it didn't concern me.

Scrap that. Glad you brought it up, tyres have a 6 year expiry.

Off to cancel the order....urgh. Am annoyed they just have a hover box that says "date of manufacture" rather than explain why they put that.
