Deluxe dash clocks

Deluxe dash clocks

by atlime » Sat Mar 05, 2016 8:26 pm
Should all 13 window Deluxe busses have clocks in the dash, or was this an extra to be selected when bought new?

I'm just buying a Bus that doesn't have one and I assumed they all should! I didn't even notice on the inspection and remembered when I got home, so I text the guy but he says its not got one. I'm not sure if that a 'its missing' or 'no place in the dash for it' but I didn't notice a hole in the dash for one.

Either way, still excited for the new bus :D

I'm not 100% sure that all deluxes came with a dash clock.

If you have a look at http://www.bustopia.com/vw-bus-m-code-n ... tions.html you will see that there are lots of options - which are represented in an mcode.

If you can find the mcode of the bus, you can use the mcode decoder to see what options came with your bus http://www.vw-mplate.com/mcode.php

If you have a good solid bus, I wouldn't let the lack of a deluxe clock put you off.

Bus were built (or assembled) all over the world Germany, Australia, Portugal....... There are many inconsistencies.

Buy a good bus, get it on the road, use, and enjoy it :)

Did you check the m code and VIN to see that it IS a deluxe?
AFAIK all deluxe models were fitted with a clock..

I agree afaik also the clock was standard for the Deluxe ... its listed as standard equipment and I cant find a code to say option deleted like there is for a fixed roof Deluxe..
M plate will tell you for sure and if bus is post Aug 64 chassis number will have prefix of 24 for Deluxe ...(or 22 for standard Microbus)
let us know when you find out...

Yes I did check the M plate code and it's a real deluxe. The spec list states it has deluxe trim but nothing about a clock?

I'm not too bothered if it's missing or the dash has a hole in it.

Like you say the right bus is far more important and this is a good solid Arizona bus

I'll report back once collected if there is actually a hole for a missing clock or not.

Can't wait to get it but im moving house this week plus have broke my leg so it's difficult to sort at the moment.

I came across someone with the idea that it's a deluxe but at some point the dash and/or front clip were replaced with a standard/non deluxe dash. Could be the case.

I'm not sure if it has no home for a clock yet but will find out for sure Friday! I didn't notice a hole but want looking either. :/

On a side note, does anyone know the dimensions on the hole needed for a clock?

Is there a square hole on the dash, passenger side??? If not and you want to put a square hole in it for one, I'm sure someone on here will take the measurements for you.

Hi
What about a swap
I've got a hole in my dash I'm not using if yours doesn't have it.id be glad to fill the hole as I'll never have enough cash( to tight)to fit a genuine deluxe clock to my van.
Straight swap of course.. :D

Are there (imitation) deluxe dash clocks for sale for a reasonable price or are there only ones for the price of gold?
