Paint job recommendations

Paint job recommendations

by Dolly23 » Wed Sep 21, 2016 7:20 am
Hi all need a reliable company to paint our westy ,it's going in early next year for essential welding and straightening work so the bulk of the hard work will be done .If anyone has any recommendations for paint shops with a good reputation and a history of vehicles without problems ie bubbling after 6 months etc we'd appreciate it ,we're based on the south coast but it can be transported.
Thanks in advance

i guess it depends on your budget to be fair but either way the good ones will be booked up years in advance and it may take a long time to get your bus back....but the wait will be worth it.........i had mine done by smiths vw in cornwall and the paint job is great!!!
pic of my bus so you can see.
good luck

I have no direct experience but I follow them on Facebook and they look to do a terrific job. I expect they charge a terrific price as well! Check out their work on Facebook
They do the whole shooting match so you could have it all done in one place if you prefer

Bearbodyworks does it for me. Totally, his works look really good too. Painting vans is not an easy job at all. But it's still one of my favorite diy activities even though I'm one of the worst painters o. Earth... Lol

Would definitely recommend both Smiths VW in Cornwall and Spikes in Essex for both the bodywork AND the paint. Two of the best in the business.

It will be an excellent job if you go to either company. They will most likely be booked up for a while but much better to wait and go with someone that is a well proven quantity and has a air tight repuatation.

To be honest, any of the actually decent painters/restorers will not be keen (or actually willing...) to paint over someone elses bodywork repairs, unless they were done by a company they know and trust 100%. Best to get the paint/bodywork done in one place then there can be no "passing the buck" later down the line.
