Has anyone out there got the 67 only Steel blue and papyrus white door cards?
30 years into Splits i have not only come across one other uk van with them.
Has anyone else out there got them?

David. My understanding is that it as one year only optional extra and was discontinued as it cracked very easy on the seating.
Company's like TMI do not carry it as it is rarely ordered . Aunty Avetts did find me the steel blue but not the papyrus white that seems not to exist in the world now. (But did offer to make some for me)
The paint was sea blue and cumulus .
I have had my van almost 30 years and never seen another UK van with it. There seems to be plenty in the USA though.
G I would love to see some photos of David Balls if anyone has any ?

The trim does appear to be listed in the VW paint code for 1967 listing but agreed the numbers do not seem to tie up...
Aero papyrus/ steel?

121872
The 72 is listed as Steel?
The panel says 72 and shows that picture for the Blue..
I was intrigued to see the colourway on the seats was the aero papyrus with blue skirts.
Looks really nice with Sea Blue

Thanks for the info G. So Ballys is not steel blue/papyrus and the bus in the links is LHD and off the road at this point.
So the hunt is still on for a UK bus.
When the VIN as decoded one odd thing was that it came up as US spec. I think that maybe the door cards?

I think the fact that the colour way option was fitted to deluxe buses makes it very unusual.
I just searched for the trim colours and only found LHD buses.
