modern version of 'Dove Blue'?

by Bergy » Fri Jan 19, 2007 4:16 pm
Does anyone know of a modern car paint/colour (ie that I can get in a rattle can) that is close to the VW L31 'Dove Blue' colour?

thanks

My local paint shop used to put any colour in a rattle can from the paint code.

Jim's right. Most car paint places can put any colour into a spray can - I managed to get cans of Beige Grey and Titian Red quite easily. I was told that they only last a few days though.

Keep hunting, I'm sure you'll find somewhere that can mix the L code.

Good luck

Are you planning on spraying the whole bus with rattle cans...!!

My man who's painting my bus would probably blow it over for you for less than that!!

Seeing as he's painting mine in a couple of weeks he'll already have the paint

cheers for all the info/comments guys....

have been doing some work on the body and so some of it is in primer ...they drilled 4 holes in the OG front panel for a later emblem and so I have put it back to the correct three etc etc...

I now need to cover it with something and would like it to be DBlue, but this is a short term fix and so I don't want to be chucking huge amounts of money at it - there's no point as I want other stuff doing later...

I don't havew my own trailer so thought maybe rattle cans maybe the answer... as you can buy alot of cans for the price of just getting my bus to & from a spraying booth !!

Tims bus looks great IMO and have spoken to him about amounts used etc so its seemed like a good short term plan. Any suggestions etc greatfully received (even by PM) :D
