Advice please ..... 15 window rhd fleetline or 11 window

by miles » Sun May 27, 2012 7:45 pm
Ive always wanted a 15 window with a camping interior in it.

Theres a fleetline on ebay which is 15 window small rear hatch with a later
westy interior, with a nice hole in the roof. Price is 22k.

Would you rather have this bus or a 1965 rhd german bus which had never been restored......ie my own bus...... I don't know much about fleetlines.

Comments please.

;)

Thanks

Miles.

Miles,
I'd take the German bus over the fleetline every day of the week but it depends what you want. If you're just itching for a project, which I think you are as you obviously need something to tinker with, why not look at restoring/doing up an early 70's bug instead??? Something like a 71 will still be tax free, parts are cheap and you can get a runner with mot for 2 grand.
Your bus is a credit to you, you may never find another like it if you sell.

I wanted a 15 window too with a camping interior and I got myself a Brazilian.
I love it to bits and I can't ever see myself selling it to buy a German, Australian or South African bus.

Just an alternative point of view to those above, but if it is what you like then why the hell not? It certainly worked for me. I restored it, i drive it weekly and i love it. As for the price, it is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Quality camping interiors can be expensive, as I know all too well.

People may well scoff at your 'non German' bus but I just hope those guys all get as much enjoyment from theirs as I get from mine and I am sure you would get from yours.

Not saying, you should have either, just offering an alternative viewpoint and saying stigma shouldn't play a part in the decision.

Miles this is one of your jokes right :?: I`m not knocking the bus itself but if it was offered to me for £8K I wouldn`t buy it. If I had a choice of three of those buses (or even four...) or one of yours, I would take the one of yours without a moments thought.

It`ll always be a very difficult vehicle to sell on due to small demand, plus it seeming to have a concerning identity crisis too :? . Whilst yours is the polar opposite being the real deal, rare in all the rights ways and so a very easy vehicle to sell on due to high demand... 8)
