HUGE thanks to bu54ter who came to my aid on Saturday when i broke down near his house, some how the spindle leaver on 1 of the carbs snapped in ½ 8O  bu54ter collected me & took me to a parts place near by but no joy. Then he phoned hursty67devon who let us use his welder to sort it  Also delux67 who lent me 1 off his carbs incase the weld gave up as i'm running a new engine in & needed to get some mile on the clock.

THANKS fellas 8) 8) 8) 8)

Yep at last :D

2276cc
CB Ali case
CB 82mm crank
5.5" scat I beam rods
Mahle 94mm stroker "b" pistons
Mahle 94mm barrels
Engle FK8 cam
CB 28mm lightweight lifters
CB straight cut cam gears
CB 1.4 rockers
CB 044 super mag round port heads (42mm inlet, 37.5mm exhaust)
44webbers & ported manifolds

Goes well up to 3000rpm so far, did 500 miles over the weekend. Now back with the builder for 1st oil change & check. Then we're off to Austria on Wednesday followed by Spa the weekend after 8O
Just to run it in

Nice one!

What had gone wrong with the old one when It was opened and was any of it salvageable for this engine?

Siezed main bearing or spun i'm not 100% (read can't remember had a few sherberts  ).
Re used heads barrels pistons & rods everything else is new.
The heads had only been on the old engine for 2-300 miles max before it went :(
Hopefully the old case will machine ok & i'll sell it cheap, also the rockers, the cam & gear.
