Questions people ask you when you're with your bus.

Questions people ask you when you're with your bus.

by CCSICeman » Wed Aug 21, 2013 7:50 pm
I thought I'd start a thread where we can list all those silly questions people ask you when they come to talk to you about your bus.
It all started last week in Cornwall, met up with Kev and we both had a laugh about the same questions the general public ask.

Is the engine stock?
How long have you had it?
Is it new? (my bus is shiney)
Is it for sale?

You get the general direction.
Just add yours to the list.

I'm thinking I might do a printed sheet that I can stick to the bus with the answers to all the questions.
I can then just point to it when someone asks a question.
Apologies to all the genuine people who sometimes come and talk to you.

When people ask that, my standard response is "about as much as a Mondeo".
Usually they fall into silence and it is end of conversation.

I always get one of two:

"That must be worth a bit. What? About twenty grand?"

or

"Blimey a RHD Samba! Did you sell your house to buy it?"

Not to mention...

"I bet that breaks down all the time."

My mate has one of them with a Porsche engine in it

How much is it worth
Did you know they still make them in Brazil.. Etc etc

Usually all in one conversation while at the petrol station :D

I don't mind the how much is it worth too much but I seem to get "how much did you pay for it?", which bugs me a little
