getting a bit pi**ed now

by Whitey » Thu Jun 23, 2005 2:41 pm
since me last post when a battery was thrown through my front windscreen 2 weeks ago tomorrow , I ordered a replacement on the monday from creative and it still aint arrived , also I have ordered a set of empi rocker cover gaskets on tuesday from big boys toys ( I know but no-one else had them in stock)and I still aint received any its been the best 2 weeks of the yr weather wise and me bus is just sat in the garage, what a waste I have missed one of the actions as I didn't have a bus to go in , and I am just sat here on the net wasting time where I could be fitting window and gaskets and cruising. :x:

Well they are the 2 worst suppliers in my opinion. Big Boys Toys hardly have any stock at all. They say they do but I think they work from a shed :? Just hassle Creative every day, that's what I had to do

I've bought once from Big Boys Toys and they were a shambles. Took them 5 months to sort out 4 cv joints and fitting kits. I only went with them because of the ultra vw discount. Won't even consider them again, rather pay the extra and get it next day at GSF or europarts.

Not bein funny chaps but have you ever thought how much impact a small remark like those have? Creative are one of the best split parts manufacturers in the business, but they are small, and yes the last two weeks have been wicked weather, but that means everyone wants their vans finished or fixed, hence massive orders!
If you want good quality parts you gotta wait sometimes! If you ring them they are well friendly, an im sure theyll sort you out!!!!

I've thought about it alot and on many threads in the past I've defended Creative (I've never had anything other than great service off them). When parts are specialist (and everything Creative do is) then you can not expect everything to be in stock. I've waited months for stuff from other vw places but not worried me at all as I know they are not mass produced parts. big boys toys annoyed me greatly as they could not even get basic parts to me. It took 4 deliveries over 5 months to get me 8 off the shelf parts (off the shelf/next day from most vw places anyway). The amount of lies they told me about them "just being taken off the lorry" or "sent this morning" or "in dispatch" was amazing. My policy with such things is not to get mad, just to not use them again and tell them so.

ive been messed around by BBT lost out in the end as i had to send things back and pay postage. not slagging anyone off just telling it like it is. If we all dis this then we would sosn know who to avoid. all this not naming names etc kind of defeats the object of being in a club and communicating with eachother

Strangely enough apart from one occasion when they were waiting for stock from the states, I have never had any problems with Big Boys Toys just wish they would sell some of better quality stuff.

Whitey,

If you can't wait any longer I have a spare screen at my house. I have just the one and it is pretty scratched, but if you need the bus on the road this could be a solution. The scratches it has look as if someone has used the wipers with grit on the screen.

I'll happily bring the screen up to Peterborough if you want it.

Another Lee.
