Not sure if this is not cricket posting a link to another forum here, BUT

This is an australian fellow who is building the ultimate pro street 54 Barndoor Single cab.

It will be running a supercharged autocraft engine and even Mike Cruz is interested. I think this guy will be re writting the rules on what times are possible in a bus.

He is planning on having this a street legal weapon, drive to the track and drive home job :D

If you havent already have a read of this thread, he should be out driving it in 2014 and I for one will be keeping my ear to the ground to here how he gets on.

Guess they've changed the road laws since I was last driving there. Thought modified vehicles were hard to get road legal?

There is Grover,
My name is Phil and that is my Barny single that I plan to see how fast a full bodied commercial can get down the track.

VWJim, nothing has changed still impossible to get something like this registered and that is not my intension. the plan is to drive to the track, about 30 mins run a good number then drive home. I will get a permit somehow so I can do this. The reason is to prove it is a "steetable" van.

We're also have a few events like Sumernats and power cruise, these events are for heaven modified cars that have a chance to come out and play.

Look out Mike :)

Amazing project Phil. Hats off to you mate.

As a fellow Aussie I can confidently say you've got jack .... chance getting that thing on the road in Oz. You can barely f*rt (parp) in your car over there anymore.

Looking forward to the updates and the all important track times. Good luck with it buddy. :D

Aspro,
Yep I recon I have a better chance of the hair growing back on my head, than rego.

the turning point was the roll cage, This was a must for me as running at 140mph in a tin can should not be taken lightly. Unfortunately the engineer said that's no good, roll cages are illegal on the street. yep that when I said "f@&k" it.

Grover should be complete and running in 2 weeks.

Definitely Not Streetable!
Looks good and great work but could never be classed as Streetable in Australia.
Has it run yet??

Phil seems to think he can de tune it for street driving so what's stopping him? Is it a legality thing?

He had to rebuild the motor for some reason and is still having dyno last I heard.
