That's what I was thinking. Making those that still race / interested in getting up the list more available as it'll be against buses that are still around.

Maybe you have an all time top twenty and yearly top twenty? that way those who run one of the fastest all time runs keep the recognition there due.

Also have a yearly table ie 2011 top twenty, that way it encourages people to get out there racing and more people get the chance to get on the list to see where they compared to everyone else racing this year?

only thing is thats more work to update the site, but hopefully more people encouraged to get out on the track and have fun?

just my thoughts happy either way ....................

I think a top 10 for yearly don,t think you get 20 Buses on the strip in a year ? I had a thought last year that maybe a rule for membership should be minimum one pass a year ? On the subject of lists what about a how many passes a year? Billy menace and VWBuzzers where very very active and no real recognition of that fact Billy especially flied the BWA flag but as Gaz said upkeep of site would be very time intensive alternatively what about an awards night once a year ?

Jules, how about a 'Hall of Fame' section where buses that don't exist in that format anymore / sold are moved? There's 4 in the top 20 that haven't been around for years.

This is an interesting point, as are the others raised here. I must admit that I have often thought along similar lines.

I've asked Rikki to pop by and take a look in here but I think he might have got lost along the way, I'll give him a nudge!!

Jules wrote:Thanks to an excellent idea from BWA member Orb we now have a new section on the BWA website, The BWA Top 20!!

Orb came up with the idea last August and sent me an email with his suggestion and a spreadsheet of all the members listed in 'Quickest Time' order!!

The page is now live and will always show the 20 fastest BWA members, to get on there you will need to run a 16.1, to take the number 1 slot you will need to run quicker than 12.6566

Nice one Orb.... Top idea!!

Does this work off your first ever timed run or your best run?
Its just my initial run was 16.8 back in 2007 (which is on the members section) but my best time so far is 15.9 which puts me around 16th place on the top 20 :D but im not on there :(
I will see if I can dig out my slip if I still have it.......not that im being competetive or anything

If you've run a quicker time and submitted your slip then the faster time counts, if you've not told anyone then the old time remains (Julian is a lovely guy but Derek Acorah he is not :D )

Get that slip in..... Glad to see I'm not the only one who's obviously itching to get on track

Orb

Yes however the run will still need to be witnessed by a founder member ;-)

Yearly top twenty sound like a good idea (in terms of motivation). All time top twenty, obligatory. New comers list?

However all this take time to orchestrate and update Jules, do you have the time? might be an idea to keep the site to a minimum and use your spare time to "get your bus back on the road"

PS Good work by the way fella! :thumbright:

I can definately find time to make any changes, now is a good time to think about it as much less busy through the winter.

I have just done a fair sized update on the BWA website, thanks to Gary Yeo (gazmate) we have the full story about his recent trip to Das Drag Day #9 with Phil Jarvis where Phil ran his fastest ever time, quick enough to take the title of the UK's quickest away from Frank Dancer, that could make for some interesting BWA racing next year.

There is also a full gallery of pictures from DDD9, thank you to Gary Yeo and Erwin Stok ( www.volksfahrer.nl/) for those.

Hello fellow BWAers :D
Not trying to stick my paddle in as it were but I take it there was a founder member present at Das Drag Day 9 to witness the run ?

The reason I ask is that theres a drag racing event being held in Devon on the 19th Nov and I will be going.
There wont be any point me trying to beat my PB let alone trying to move up the chart if there isnt going to be any founder members present.

I try to get to santa pod etc for the racing but can only manage 1 or at the most 2 trips up a year for the 'big' shows where the founder members will always be present.

How many founder members are there of the BWA as if its only a couple then surely this restricts the oppurtunities to certain times of the year i.e bug jam and vwAction to get into the BWA ?

And do any live in the west country
