How to qualify into BWA

Can someone explain how to qualify into BWA, apart from obviously being under 18 seconds.
Does a member need to watch you?
How does it work?
Hope to achieve entry this year, thanx in advance

It needs to be witnessed by a founder member, you'll need to submit a copy of your timing slip, you need to run sub 18 seconds in a flat four, air cooled powered bus (type 1 or 4)
Apart from that you are free to do whatever you like (Turbo, NOS, Supercharger, Short gears)
The best events to make a pass are Big Bang (missed that one), Bug Jam or VW Action - there should pretty much always be a member attending one of these shows to verify your time (normally Rikki James)

First chance will be bug jam then action.
Had Jim Merrin round this evening who has suggested trying to get some runs in on the Friday at bug jam as it could be quieter.
Will try and bump into Rikki on Friday to make people aware of the my bus.
I had a good idea of what was required, just the need to be witnessed was what I wanted to hear.
Probably an old line, but this will be thanx to Nigel and his TV show for getting me back into buses after 10 yrs and having the things I could never afford when I was much younger.
Thanx Brian

With up most respect Nigel
Ran a 16.13 at action.
Looking to now upgrade what I have through next year to do easy 15's and ultimately get in the 14's.
Discovery should be looking to make some new Vw shows. Long long over due.
Thanx NIgel

It is great to see some serious buses out there.
Love the BWA thing, is there anyway around the rule "It needs to be witnessed by a founder member" ?

It's a shame a video + slip won't do!
The best days at the Pod to practice are the Test & Tune days as there's no queuing and you can get as many runs in as you like (or as many as your bus lasts for!).
It's also better to go to Test & Tune to practice your launches/60ft times as well if you've never run before - much better than queuing for an hour or more at a big event only to fluff your launch
If you've never been to Santa Pod before remember it's the coldest place on the planet!!
