After a seven hour drive to our campsite on the Wirrell on Thursday, a sleepless night due to gale force winds and rain, (kombi rocking for all the wrong reasons
) we finally get to Liverpool on time Friday morning...
Shame the ferry was cancelled...
Chewie and Ade already hot footing it to Heysham to try their luck there. We meet up with Savs and manage to get booked on the 02.15 crossing from Heysham... Great, only 18 hours to kill then...
Drove down to Morecambe for the afternoon, on Ian's recommendation. Time flew by there.
Then on to the bustling port of Heysham...

We'll neatly side step the ferry crossing over. Suffice to say I spent it either locked in a cubicle, or lying on the floor in the fetol position wishing the world would end. It was a tad rough...
Anyway, we didn't sink, or end up washed up on Blackpool beach. Here we are lined up in Douglas very early Saturday morning, ready for a game of 'Follow that Corsa!'
Arrival at Cronk Aashen Farm.

After spending most of Saturday recovering from the Perfect Storm, it was time to start enjoying ourselves! Good business at the B-B-Q...
Meanwhile, back at the Ranch....
Bunchaskankers getting everyone warmed up...
My photography getting worse as the evening wears on... Something to do with the bottomless glass of Solway Cider...
Cheers Gary
, but boy did I regret it in the morning... Sat morn - Sea Sick, Sun Morn - Cider Sick...
Talking of bottomless...

Great photos Mike. You don't see too many people going to a BBQ dressed like this
'Twas rather cold

Luckily the Sunday Cruise wasn't until mid-day, plenty of time to recover from my cider induced hangover...
Lining up in the lane outside the farm... Sorry, no photo's of Susie expertly diffusing the situation when the silly old ****'s came back in their 4x4 and started f-ing and blinding that we were blocking the road
Ade and Dean, not that you can see them. Make that Martin and Garry instead...
Sav's bus... jaw droppingly gorgeous
Mooragh Park. Bitter out... hands well and truely in pockets. Mike and Sav throwing caution to the wind and braving the elements without hats.

After a very pleasant drive down to Ians for a cuppa and a slice of cake, we decide to take the very scenic mountain route back to the campsite for tea.
Zombi Kombi made a good impression of a mountain goat
Not used to hills here in Southampton, the views were breathtaking
Back in time for some bus shuffling in the barn
Sunday evening entertainment was Trevor Nelson. Unfortunately I didn't got a photo of him so you'll never know if it really was Radio 1 DJ and TV presenter or not...
Chilling out in the cold corner
Best seats in the saloon

Last day on the Isle of Man
I followed in Si and Mikes and the Cloudinspectors footsteps and went for a hike up the mountain. Got about halfway before driving winds, altitude sickness, heart beating like a ****d clock, made me think halfway was a good place to reach, so walked round the middle instead. Took loads of photos, but all on 35mm on my dinosaur of an SLR... it usually takes me a couple of years to get round to developing a film out of it
You'll have to put up with a photo Susie took in the farm while I was pretending I was Bear Grylls.
Back in Douglas, the bus sporting some hike acquisitions
At the ferry port.
Why can't all ferry crossing be like this...
Chewie teaching Harry the blocks game... then losing
