Hi Nik,

I have spoken to Markus and mine is inc Monday, I was just worried that it could have got lost in transit.

I ordered mine at last minute.com, so I expected mine to come later.

Cheers

The video doesn't really cover the oval shaped gate install at all. That's often been the tricky bit to line up and find all gears and to avoid crashing into reverse when trying to find second.
I wish that bit was a bit clearer.

Bets bet is for you all to share your experiences as you go along with fitting them, I'm sure we can not only amass a good discount, but also some knowledge to share :)

I must admit, I tried fitting an Empi shifter once and gave up in the end and just put the original one back a I couldn't get it to work.
What I don't get is how you know how much to screw the ball into the base of the shifter as you can't see how far into the shift rod it's sitting once it's all bolted down?
From memory don't you fit it all in loosely then push the whole lot upwards as far as you can then tighten it all up.
Anyway, here's a picture of mine :)

Little Empi had loads of fun playing with the polystyrene nuggets

Fitted mine today. Set the ball depth, packed with grease, slotted in spacer and bolted down...all gears there! Lovely! :D Think I would like a little extension on the stick at some point in the future but well happy with it, thanks Nik and Markus. If you could get to work on a Red9 front end bulk buy that would be great! 50% off or two for the price of one, I'm not fussed.

Out of interest, how did you set the ball depth?
Am I right in thinking that it goes cab floor, spacer, gear shifter?
Did you have it in neutral whilst you fitted it and if not what gear were you in?

Cheers, Lee.

I set it in 2nd gear and removed the old shifter. Then got the ball and thread and popped it in the coupler. Wound the nut up until it was around level with the top of where the spacer plate would be then wound it in a couple of threads to allow for the angle and to ensure it didn't bottom out. Removed and fitted it to the shifter.
Spacer goes in the recess on the floor (early bay, cannot remember if my Split had the same recess, but I assume so), shifter on top of that. You can still see the ball in the coupler from above, so if the depths doesn't look quite right now is the time to adjust up or down. Easy peasy really, not like you have a slot to adjust on the shifter.
