1/4 light - sliding window locks

I saw these and thought 'what a good idea, yes please' I just wondered which of the windows they are protecting and it what way are the windows a vulnerable point?
I'm not being critical and still want a white set but want to understand what I'm protecting against
Thanks in advance

Front cab sliding windows. You have a small spring loaded catch with a locating peg that you squeeze and slide the window back. But because of the tolerances in the glass, the frame, the catch etc on a lot of buses you can literally push the glass up and slide it back, meaning instant access to the cab. This is the bus equivalent of a security chain on your front door, can only be removed from the inside and stops the glass being slid back by the unscrupulous.
