it is like one of those pictures you can't make out unless the light is at an obliique angle (+ it is 44 years old)
Exactly the same badge that our 67 Spaceway has on the tailgate, attached in the same way. Like yours ours is faded but still 'readable'
I knew it would be you who snaffled that Devon badge off eBay

Who'd be mad enough to pay 100 quid for a badge, must be some kind of idiot
The original is slightly sharper in detail than the repro but it looks pretty good.

So you were the mystery buyer tubb? I knew it must have been a hard-core member of D.I.C.S.
I would have paid good money for an orig, just couldn't find one, but reckon i've got the next best thing.... after a mega-buck resto you really want something of reasonable quality hanging off the side to tell the world what it is

BTW check out the tailgate in this 67 viewtopic.php?f=8&t=72377 a custom touch or factory standard?

My sentiments exactly. In fact I ended up with 2, the other cost 15 quid but isn't quite as good, but I cost averaged my purchase price and have a spare for the next one

I think with incomplete interiors going for over a grand now and ropey vans at the 10k mark good Devon parts are only going to increase in price and value as we all look for the one missing part to complete our projects.

My early '63 had the badge on the front cargo door. It was fixed with spring clips (similar to those used to fix the radio blank panel) on the two pins and fairly copious beige or white putty between the plate and door face. The putty looked simiar to glazing putty but it was still semi flexible when I removed it 40 years after install.

My 1964 Devon has the badge on the front cargo door as it was fitted origonally, and the small woven effect badge on the inside of the front passenger door just as it came out of the Devon factory, the large cargo door badge seemed to change doors sometime in 1965. My friends origonal 1967 has no badging on the cargo doors but a woven badge on the tailgate. but it seemed to be fitted after mid 1965 wherever the fitter felt like putting it. I remember having the same discussion back in 1990 and the above possitioning was of general agreement

Anyone know when they were first fitted?
We all agree that the badges were fitted till 1967...but attached to the rear hatch at the end of splitty Devons..
But earliest fitment? 1960 adverts appear to show them?
A67MAN's 1958 has one and Doogle do you have one?

Yes mine does have one and so does the Sumpters 58 picture below
My 67 Torvette also pictured would have had a plastic (like the internal ones) riveted on the rear hatch but I never found one...most I have seen have faded
