My Kombi has no lining around the windows or anywhere in roof.

Just caught up with progress on the Torvette. Absolutely great - exactly the right resto for that bus

Until recently I hadn't realised it was Velvet green and a Kombi - just like my 64 Torvette I had in the 70s! I loved that bus and travelled all over Europe in it. Had it for ten years then sold it to a moron who eventually scrapped it despite my having first option to buy it back. If I ever meet him again I won't be responsible for my actions..........................
See my post above for some good news - another one found!

Awesome, that is just what I am after ..... what I am unsure of is the area around the roof opening on the inside? I would love to see some detail of how Devon lined this area. It would appear that there are strips 150 - 200mm wide that slot into mouldings fixed to the angle iron around the roof opening. I have the front and rear mouldings but nothing for the two long sides. I would be incredibly grateful if you could grab photos of this area.
That would be magic, thank you.
Cheers

Velvet Green is my absolute favourite bus colour, and especially with the Kombi/commercial buses. The photos that Graeme posted earlier are now my screen savers!
Many of us have similar stories to tell, I used to own a Devonette, 100% original everything and I sold it, what was I thinking!! And sadly after it going through a couple of hands, it was re-painted.

Yes and you posted pictures of the Devonette interior IIRC....
A 1964 with Dinette seat layout...No magazine rack..but a drop down piece to make up the bed with...the large rear table..
No easicool no water tank and no water pump and a space for three fresh water plastic bottles,so I believe closed off with a panel.
Brian's lead sounds exciting. ..
I have a set of trims for all four sides...
I was going to use on Peebles but still not fitted. ..
Will take the brave pill soon...

I'll have a go Pete. I'll also ask the Sidmouth mafia if they can remember how the roofs were lined.

Thanks for the photo Graeme, and as I suspected, I am missing the two long sides.
Do the two long side trims have the same profile as the front and rear? From the photos they look like just angled pieces?

Thank you so much. I used to live in Torbay, Auckland, New Zealand for close to 20 years!

Yes.....
Sadly the ones I acquired have a little damage but do have the return profile...
The backs look like this
If you look again very closely at the photo I posted in an attempt to explain. ..
These are the long sides shown on the right with the white covers come down and going round the overhead bunks and are then attached to the turnbuckles mounted on the vertical sides of the pop top openings. ..
The boards I believe sit in the pockets in the long sides...

Thanks, that shows the profile nicely, don't imagine I will ever find any of that laying around!! I'm thinking it would be easy enough to make out of wood, probably my only option at this stage.

A massive shout out to Graeme (type21f), got home today to find this wee gem in my letterbox, "call it an early Christmas present" he said!!
Incredibly grateful and a gesture that illustrates the best in this hobby, thank you.
