That's a bay window table from 1968 - 1971. It has different section attachment from the late split tables, so try earlybay.com if you want an alloy strip.
What year catches are you looking for? These are VERY hard to find but I may have some early 60s catches and keeps that I could be persuaded to part with.

Brian, how does one tell the difference between late split and early bay?

The profile of the U looks different, I wonder if the bit which intercepts is the same. I have a spare other half lying around but don't know if it's the correct one.

The rails are definately different, I picked up a bay table but it wouldn't fit the rail in my bus.
Bring it with you tonight and try it on my splitty table?

If it is for a bay it will fit that table. If not I'll buy it off you if the op doesn't want it

So mine is for a bay and it's surplus.
Richard's split one on the left and my bay one on the right.

Yes please if Mr Churchill doesn't want it - it will fit a bay table I have. Can you get it to the OCD?

I was witness to the comparison of these table edgings (but not involved in the shocking heist!)
The bay one is not as tall or chunky.
When it is placed side by side by the Split Devon rail on Richards bus the top of the rails levelled up when the Bay one was sitting inside (on top?) of the bottom of the split rail.
So a split rail is at least 3mm deeper in profile/height to a bay one as can be seen in the pic above.
Who on earth thought to change this at Devon... just trying to keep us on our toes 50 years later huh?!

I know the man who made the change so I'll ask him why they did it. Probably a change of supplier.
