Devon Quiz #12

OK those that know me will not be surprised by this...
How well do you know your Devon interior?

A) What are these?

Image

B) How many should there be on a typical OG Caravette Interior? Probably none on a repro?

C) Where can you get these from?

D) How would I know they were missing...?

Probably would not know but once fitted would understand the improvement...

Nerds would know what these are..

Well I already have an Answer to part C)

Me..

I bought a few for myself and enough to supply others...

Having suffered from a denuded one which ate a hole in my interior..I worked out what was missing and where they should be and discovered several more were bare or missing. I searched for ages and ages.. just to find what they are called...

Now I have found a source and bought some...
From a long way away (hence the price.. Duty n VAT n surcharge mostly...Grrrr)

Not too expensive.

Answers on a reply..to this thread...

Clue...they are quite small..
Just over 1/4"..

As they say.. it is the little things that matter..

75p each....plus postage probably large letter..

Discount available for more than one... LOL..

PM if you know what they are and want some

If not guess away......

Are they rubber stops, for stopping cupboard doors like the top flap on a <64 cutlery cupboard?

If so the cupboards I've had have only been fitted with one on one side. Devon budgeting once again.

...AND THE PRIZE GOES TO CLYMOJ!

You have been listening to my babbling!

Yes there should be one on the upright for each upright door of the cooker cupboard, the cutlery cupboard and the wash flap and two at the bottom of the crockery cupboard to hold the bowls in place.. They sit on the side surfaces and stop the door going in too far and stop it rattling on the slider (or forcing the slider off!).

My cooker under cupboard door had gone too far the rubber perished and the remaining nail ate the formica..
The cupboard hine was sheared and repaired (BADLY)

Not discovered any anywhere else.. still looking..

So my total was 6 per vehicle.. I was missing three.. I have plenty to supply
Maybe repros have none..
So anyone want a discounted volume?
Any one want any?

I have quite a few..
As many as you require...
So all the excess till I run out....
:)
I looked for a long while and was basing on getting a supply for my Devons..

I reckon that they will have to be at Second class large letter..
So I figured 75 p postage ...was the cheapest..not tested this yet.

Have one set ordered.

As clymoj says it appears as if Devon fitted just one per door close to the slider so that the door rests on the rubber and when you close the slider..holds it against the rubber..
My door rattled..but then when I refitted the slider I wondered why the Formica corner was missing...then I realised.
Send me PM..

I've seen other doors with that corner of the Formica missing too. Now I know why

I will need at least one because I'm down to the nail on my cutlery cupboard but I will have to let you know when the project recommences

Hmmmm I have a corner of Formica missing, but no evidence that these were fitted..... I like the idea of them.... Anyone have a pic of them in-situ? This is in a 67my Devon.

They were fitted to doors with slider catches. So maybe for the 65< plastic grab handles / white nylon roller catches they weren't required Ted?

I think Devon used these on hinged doors as clymoj says ...to sit on the frame behind the slider catch for two reasons

Too buffer the closing of the door in order to stop it going too far and align the catch with the hole to ease closing

To stop the door rattling.

If you hsve doors with the later white plastic jaw and peg design these do the same thing..
Engage easily and are positive
Hold the door firm

As ted said...I was looking to replace OG..
