That's confused things even more! They must have shifted from the front door to the rear door at some point, I presume it is the original door on yours? Is your model a Caravette Standard?

Hi

Yes I think its the orig door as it has been repaired at the bottom (I know most of em have  ) and the guy I bought it off never mentioned it had been changed whereas he mentioned the other changes he did.

I can't be 100 percent sure though

As for being a Caravette standard - I'll plead gnorance on that one :)

Have a look at the link on Elliots last post you should be able to figure out from the brochure there. Also like on 65DEVY's you should have a plaque on the passenger door inside saying Caravette. From your pic I guess yours is a standard and not a deluxe as you have no trim on your van.

Cheers

Put my Devon badge on today, one that Bobley (thanks again!) sent over to me here in Oz. Mine being a Feb 65 Devon had its badge definitely on the rear cargo door, as I can see the holes from there rear.

Just had a repro badge arrive, but was wondering what an original looked like? Same as the one Bobley posted (with background coloured) or all the one colour :?:

Its certainly brightly plated but since the electroplaters in N'ton melted my VIN and M plate I've been loath to take the OD Devon plaque....

Meanwhile, I found a pic of Richie Kings 61 Samba (the one with the mahogany interior) and that has the badge on front cargo door...

Can't see one on the front door of the one on the '66 brochure - you know the black and white pic of the woman wearing an afro and high heels

I'm not saying that everyone is wrong. The badge appears to get stuck on wherever the fitter decides on the day. The only reason mine is where it is, is because of this one picture I found in a book. My bus is a fraud anyway!

Maybe magnetic is the way forward - that way it could be changed to suit the mood of the day?
