Repro Westy Cots - Now with Cot Boot pics and prices

Dr Grub wrote:My boot is different to Phil's (Surreysplit), same shape and size but mine is made out of the same material as the cot itself. Phil's looks like it is vinyl from the photo's? I am certain mine is original and not something someone has knocked up from material.

Glad to know how it attaches now, I bought one of the repro cots about 2 months ago and they are fantastic quality, look and fit.

Dr G. :P

Matthew

Thanks for the kind words about the cot, I am glad you are happy with it

Would you mind measuring your 'boot' and I can see if it is the same size as Phil's :D

I will then get a few made up in the same material as the cots - is anyone interested in one?

Cheers

Quite fancy a cot. Do you reckon either of my kids would fit? One is 24, the other a 19 year old rugby prop! Ha!

The 'boot' holds the cot in place during storage and stops it sliding out of its resting place...

Can have a go at making a heavy duty one for your kids! :D :D :D

I think as Matthew rightly said they were originally made from canvas , same as the cot but moved over to vinyl some time in 67 prob in preparation for the New Bay Window Westy

Wow - $125 for a small canvas bag, I'm in the wrong business

Yes I'm sure these can be knocked up for a fraction of that cost, just need the measurements confirming

Interesting thread though, seems that my 66 probably shouldn't have one as I have the retaining cleat, but am missing the leather strap :(

Neil, put me on the list for a boot, mine has four screws on the top of the wardrobe, but on the side not the front!!
The screws and cups are the OG westy ones, look like they have allways been there,
Sean.

So, here's a prototype of the Cot boot, I'm happy with how it looks, but could Phil or Matthew please just check the width - this is very tight to fasten the cot in, I think it would be better a bit wider, but want to make it original

What do you guys think?
