anyone want a copy of pitt sales brochure

anyone want a copy of pitt sales brochure

by e m p i » Fri Nov 06, 2009 12:41 pm
I have an original sales brochure as given out to prospective Canterbury Pitt purchasers. It shows some of the different options available and the different layouts possible by folding the bench seats in different ways. If anyone wants a copy I can run some off and bring them along to Slough. Only payment required will be a pound to be given to the first collector you see for the Poppy Appeal. If you wat one text me on 07966 106336 and I will contact you once I'm at Slough.
Cheers, Lee

yeah no worries, just pm me an address and i'll get a copy in the post for you.

Oh and welcome to "the pitts"

Mine doesnt have the pop-top either, it was removed by the previous owner and replaced with a paris beetles ragtop. To be honest this probably suits me more as its not as noisy and i can get my roofrack plus a roofbar on to hold our surfboards.

i have it on good authority from someone in the know that the easiest way to tell if it an original pitt is that there should be a dent in the very top of the spare wheel holder. Mine is covered in some rather groovy fur so i cant see but i'm going to investigate a bit further over the winter. the other tel-tale is thsat there should be a little "door" in the cargo floor that would have been used to access the fresh water tank which would have been under the bus (mine is long gone or it'd be smacking the deck every time i drove it!!!)

I'm trying to find someone that does a repro of the Canterbury Pitt badge that would have been on the side of the cooker at the moment. There's someone on e-bay apparently but i've gotta suss out who it is.

Hmm, knew i should have just bought a Transit instead....

cheers, Lee

Hi there Lee

I would really like a copy of the brochure as I have a 67 Pitt camper - mine has the pop top roof with thin red and white stripes.

I will send you a pm with my details and how I can pay you as as I am in Oz!

Thanks, Michael

PS - I only just read a post regarding Pitt stickers/badges

Nah don't worry, it should only cost a fiver or so to get copied and posted off so just bung a couple of quid in the next collecion box you see for either the poppy appeal, help for heroes or cancer research and we'll call it squares :)
Oh and you need to pm me an address to post it to!

Apologies folks, been away for a few days and busy at work so all going well I should have the copies done and sent out either this weekend or early next week. Gonna get them copied at pronta-print or similar as they'll come out better tha way. So far those wanting one are:
Splittie1 (warwickshire)
Morts (Australia)
Hosedragger (USA)
Matilda67 (address needed)

Oh and if anyone needs some interior pics let me know and pm me an email addy as I have some from a very original Pitt that someone kindly sent me(cheers Neale) that are good to use as a comparision.

Morts,
Thanks fella, I'll look forward to the postie bringing something except bills for a change!!!

Okay folks, I've posted them out but I couldn't find anywhere that could do the thing as a broadsheet so what I've done is divided it into 4 snd done each quarter for each side. Each part is numbered and enclosed is a diagram(don't get too excited, its more of a doodle!) Of how to put them together to make up the brochure. One side has all 4 parts up the same way but the other side has the 2 bottom parts up one way and the 2 top parts up the other way. Hopefully it'll all make sense when you get it ;)

Cheers, Lee

Hi Lee, thanks for the great brochure, and thanks for your time. I did however find out a new fact from the brochure, i did not know the original engine was a 1.2.

I have replied via text but am really interested coz the "unfinished project" that I bought as a devon 66 slpit never seemed quite right and I think it is a canterbury pitt coz its got the massive poptop and the giveaway dent on top of the spare wheel housing.
The big question is - have you still got a copy of the brochure?
I will happily buy poppies and support help for heros if youve got one?
If you mail me I can supply an address and postage.
cheers

according to my old pitt brochure, the badge goes on the lh cargo door just below the swage line!! 8O
not the best place.i actually stuck mine to the side of the door mounted cooker.

Hi

I know this is quite an old post but we have only just joined the site and we are really struggling to find details for the over cab bed.

We have a 1966 canterbury pitt conversation all of the interior is in its original state and still all in excellent condition. We have owned it for 10 years and the one thing that has always caused confusion is the over cab bed. The brackets are already there, two in the front, one behind the curtain above the table in the back and what appears to be a locating plate on the floor in front of the cooker housing it appears to make a double bed. We are looking for any details of how the originals looked and are hoping that the sales brochure may have some information, perhaps as an optional extra. We seem to be unable to locate anybody who has this bed and so are looking to recreate one for our son. Ours is not a pop top so there is only the double bed which is not really big enough for two adults and a 5 year old!!

We would really appreciate a copy of your brochure even if it does not contain details of the bed we are sure it will make interesting reading.
