I have looked at these, but the cost is far greater and would make the dock very expensive overall. So I have stuck with the known and trusted format of 3.5mm jack plug/socket, which apple still use on all their docks even for the iPhone 6 (although its at the back).It also does give the phone incredible stability in the dock.

thanks for sending the comment through I'm always open to new ideas and pointers as it easy to be so close to something you design that you can miss the obvious!

I have a complete ashtray dock ready to go that would probably suit rat look van or could be painted to match your van interior or simplest way would be to just use your existing ashtray lid!

It is currently to built to suit an IPhone 6 but can be changed to an iPhone 5 if required

So just a case of drop it in your dash and connect it up!

(Note: I do not usually supply the lightning cables in these kits but throwing this one in for free!) it is a brand new cable, but not a genuine apple one although it seems to work fine, so up to you if you want to replace it with an original one!

Yes they are available to post and will be happy to send to Austria. However the price covers the cost of postage to UK, so will need to check how much it will be to ship to Austria and may have to ask you pay any extra if necessary. Once I get home from work I'll have a look & let you know.

Fitted mine the other night, could not have been easier, tested and working, will be using in anger on the way to DATH, nice piece of kit, thanks.

Tip, dry test to check the lead is high enough to make a good connection, thought it was seated ok until I connected to the power source, cable was just a bit to low down, unfortunately the ash tray was fitted back in by then, easily sorted though, properly due to my phone case.

Glad you like it, and it all up and running! (it is difficult to specify how high to put the lightning connector before tightenening due to different case sizes)

Just a quick note to say I am going away on holiday to Spain from Tuesday 4th August and will return on Thursday the 13th August so docks can now only be posted out from the 14th August.
