Not for the fainthearted.
Lowered, narrowed beam, big engined camper...
Sundial ‘67 walkthrough camper.
Solid US import, OG paint, loads of patina. straight axle, disk brakes-servo assisted, porsche seats.
Very early ‘67 model bus built in September ‘66 (hence D reg from DVLA). No reverse lights. It’s built around 11 window combi walkthrough.
Unusual for a Sundial. Factory 12v.
Tons of patina, mainly I think by the skaters who owned her in the 80s! Originally bought from Kieft en Klock as a project bus back in 2006. First UK MOT and registered in 2010. Tax and MOT’d.
CSP cross drilled front disk brakes and scat disk brakes on rear. New EMPI hubs fitted to rear in May 2015.
Twin circuit master cylinder. 2 x high ratio(rally!) Remote servos on both front and rear circuits T2D 2” narrowed front beam with anti roll bar. New shocks all round (1 year old).
Dropped spindles (fully rebuilt and flipped by T2D). T2D modified lowered track rods/ends etc.
Creative Engineering rack & Pinion steering conversion.
Replica chromed 356 wheels. 5 1/2J (rear), 4 1/2J (front). All new Bridgstone tyres.
Gearbox:
BEARS motorsport Pro Comp gearbox. Built new 2000 miles ago.
Quaife SWA Torque Bias Limited Slip Differential.
081-301-051 Aluminium Rhino HD Main Casing.
Final Drive: 3.875:1.
Bus boys straight axle kit.
Super strong "drag" rear axles for strength .
All new bearings and seals etc when built.
CSP gear shift.
Engine :
Dan Simpson professionally built 2276cc. Full Flow. DPR 82mm Crankshaft. 94mm bore.
Bergmann Cooling kit.
Twin 40 DRLA Dellorto.
Kennedy KEP stage 1 clutch and Daiken Mat.
Concept Racing external Oil Cooler c/w Spall fan. c/w bespoke Pertek braided hoses.
Concept racing breather tank.
Concept Racing Fuel Tank c/w lockable filler cap.
VW Aircooled Works fitted fire suppression system.
VW Aircooled Works bio fuel hoses, with Solenoid fuel cut off, wired to fire suppression.
Electrics:
All new wiring loom professionally fitted.
Body :
Being an import from Alabama, USA the chassis rails and all outriggers jacking points etc are all OG and solid, with OG paint under the underseal.
Some minor work carried out by previous owner: R/H sill, under the side cargo doors and 12 inches of cargo floor and small panel fwd of rear arch on R/H side. Also repair to battery tray and repair panel to l/h cab floor, panels were either the green funky ones or Autocraft. All new polished pop out windows fitted, with polished safari’s, too. All glass is now bronze tinted.
Front 3 point belts, welded nuts to inside pillars. Rear 3 points, with one lap strap. Inside from waist line up ,OG ply panels (Sundial), rubbed down and varnished. Lower panels are new varnished ply. Fully insulated with foil backed foam boards, including roof. Soundproofing with alu flashing above engine/ gearbox.
Fitted full width rock and roll bed (jk hinges/mdf) and brand new bed foams (never used).
Still have copy of Sundial style wardrobe (westy style layout)if wanted.
New slash cut bumpers fitted.
3 bow roof rack.
One key for ignition and front doors. Lockable engine lid catch.
Porsche leather seats fitted.
Aftermarket wood rimmed steering wheel.
