21 window samba
21 window samba

This is a german built 21 window samba. 1966, originally delivered to Finland.
The van was completely stripped and the body restored by JMA Refinishers in original colours (Velvet Green). Harry Harpics did an IRS conversion and all of the running gear which look fantastic.
The interior was done by Delilahs with original split bench and a pair of Rusty Lee Rock n Roll beds that are arranged facing each other like a Devon. The cabinets were custom built. It has the original Golde sun roof with a new cover.
This is a truley lovely van. There are a few odd jobs to finish her off... I was thinking about upgrading the steering to R&P so did not restore the original box. And I have not hung curtains as yet (I blame the wife!)
I am asking £60,000 or near offer.
Thanks for looking
Kevin

Hi Steve
If you email me on 07969 078 155 I can send a video walking around.
The engine was supplied by Harry Harpics (who also did an IRS conversion using Beetle 1303 gearbox) and is very nice indeed. It drives very well but it is not fast as I wanted it fairly standard.
There is no rust. It was totally stripped, any bad metal was replaced and a bare metal respray.
The bad points:
I mentioned the steering is not great (but it never is) as I was thinking of a rack and pinion upgrade that I never got around to.
The steering wheel is not restored. I did not fit a new one as I am told they are not as good... but I have not found somebody who restores them.
One front screen is cracked - but I have a spare.
There are no curtains nor visors - I just never got around to it.
I have not got the table yet.
I have owned the bus for about 8 years. The resto was finished a couple of years ago and has hardly been used since,
I am based in Essex near Basildon... its about 10 minutes from the M25.
Thanks
Kevin
