SO23 **sold**
by JBMango67 » Fri Sep 13, 2013 6:07 pm
VW SO23 Westfalia Splitscreen Camper LHD
Built 1960, first registered in St Louis USA 1961
Very rare colour combination, code SK692A, light green over dark green.
I know of only three others in the states this colour.
I am the first UK owner and have carried out a sympathetic restoration to maintain as much original paint and character as possible, all the electrics and running gear have been overhauled.
Taxed & Tested.
Underneath - Original underseal was removed as it had gone hard like toffee (OG Paint still underneath), this was then stone chipped and sprayed dark green.
New Wiring Loom and fuse box, 12v conversion.
New brake pipes.
CSP Dual brake cylinder
4” narrowed Wagenswest front beam, Dropped Spindles, CSP wide 5 Disc brakes that accept standard 14” and 15” Steel wheels. Costs £1044
Straight axel beetle gearbox with Bus Boys adjustable spring plates.
New shocks front and rear
Interior panels and roof have been lined with 25 mm Celotex to improve insulation and reduce noise.
The engine area has also been covered in sound deadening sheets similar to Dynomat
Reproduction SO23 interior, finished to a high standard, cost over £3.5K
Madmatz flooring.
6 new pop out window frames
Front Safari windows with Butty's seals
Rear Safari window
New rubbers and door seals (wolfsburg)
1600cc Twin Port engine, 34pict single carb, OG heat exchangers.
New fuel lines
New Battery
OG front and rear ribbed bumpers with rear splash pans.
Flat 4 Sprintstar wheels, rear tyres Michelin Energy, Front tyres Continental Ecocontact.
Incuding two spare wheels with new tyres.
Nothing needs doing, just add fuel
Can easily be changed back to stock height as I have all the parts.
