Larger fuel tank options

Are there any alternative sources for a larger fuel tank for my '65 split?
Thanks

Have a look at concept racing. The man welds like a robot. The products are awsome.I have got one of his tanks for my van just not fitted yet because my van is in storage waiting for the garage to be built

Very smart looking, doesn't say what capacity they are. In fact what's the capacity of the standard tank?

There is a bay tank that just fits the height of the space. You will need to be quite careful as only one out of the, I think, three will fit. It also uses the screw-on pipe connector as opposed to there being a pipe actually on the tank. If it has an outlet pipe you will never get it in. Here's some pics of mine for reference. Take note of the pic where its in the bus. The shape of the bottom is arched to the shape of the shelf it sits on. None of the other bay tanks have this shape.

You can get later bay tanks to fit...you just have to beat the crap out of the bottom of the tank....I believe to pro's call it 'dressing' that's what I did, made up some threaded bar to make up for the mounting straps not being long enough. Big increase in capacity over a standard split tank.

I noticed Red 9 do a 14.2 gallon tank...

http://www.red9design.com/type2.htm

I think a stock tank is 8.8ish gallons.

Like the sound of this as all the aftermarket options are a bit 'spendy'.

Standard split tank 9 gallons.
Standard early bay tank (the one that fits) 12 gallons.

One of the mods I'd like to do to my bus as that way I'd be able to get to the North Devon surf on one tank without having to stop
Our of interest what do people do about the breather pipes on the bay tanks and what about the fuel gauge sender? Do you have to modify it to fit the split sender or do you use the bay sender?

Cheers, Lee.

my breather pipes currently had screws in them blocking them :?

sender, I just used the bay sender as its already 12v
can't say it works very well though, tank generally shows 3/4 full, until half full, then flickers up and down…until 1/4 full, then sits at empty…with the odd flicker, like a dying fly spasm

can't say whether thats down to the sender, wiring or gauge TBH, but reckon its the sender earth
