looks cool Jim, guess the logic over conventional lifts is the mobility, not price?

Yes, if you go for a conventional 2 post, (or 1 post or 4 post), then the posts are always in the way when you're not using them, where this can be left under the car and your doors aren't obstructed, or you can lean it up against a wall out of the way.

Plus, 2 post lifts need to be bolted down to the concrete slab, and you have to know / trust that your slab is strong enough. Mine isn't for sure.

If I had the space and head room, I'd have one of these and a 2 post lift to cover the various jobs.

Slightly cheaper as better shipping price, plus it included the hydraulic oil and a caster modification to move it around easier.

Only down side I can see is you can't stand up underneath it and therefore you'll be permanently bending over and looking up if working under the bus. I can feel the backache now !

As it's scissor it also means you can't slide underneath if it's 2' off the floor.

I suppose no lift is ever going to be perfect - they all have compromises somewhere...

95% of what I do is either the front or the back, with only a tiny bit in the middle. And I don't have the head room to get a van at standing height unfortunately. I wish...

So yep, it's a compromise. Better than trolley jacks as it lifts squarely straight up, both ends at once. And higher too.

I've fancied one of these for a while, but wasn't sure whether it would work with a bus and finding sensible lifting points. Will look forward to hearing your thoughts on whether they are a good fit for a bus.

BH Repairs sent me a load of photos of various vehicles, big trucks, T5's, Bays etc.

And a mate liked his so much he bought another.

I bought one of these type of lifts earlier this year and find it great for working on the bus or stag. Yes you cannot get under the middle of the vehicle when on the ramp, most of your work is on the front or back axles and engine so it works well.
So much easier than trolley jacks and axle stands.
