Hi Folks,
Just wondering if a 12 volt beetle speedo can be put into a bus binnacle.
My current fuel gauge is doomed and the speedo registers mileage but not speed.
So, if it fits, a 12 voly beetle speedo could be a good solution.
Just wondering if anyone knows if this transplant is possible.

The speedo route is wrong, so it makes the cable stressed unless you cut a new hole in the dash and re-route it.

Yeah, my 15 came with a Beetle speedo and the under dash tray had been drilled, as Jim said, to re route the cable.

It's exactly what I intended doing until I got mine sorted, I have a 59 bug speedo, fully refurbed by Thorsten at Krautclassicparts in Germany for sale if your interested.

Hi
You can fit a beetle speedo,all the parts are interchangeable.i used some of the parts from my original speedo and made one out a bettle speedo.
as Jim said the speedo drive part does come out the side but a little hole in the shelf and its okay.
I had planned on using the fuel gauge on mine but never got round to it.
