Parts left over after fitting dropped spindles!
Parts left over after fitting dropped spindles!
by ernie » Sat Mar 26, 2016 7:07 pm
Hi all
Just a quick and hopefully easy question to answer..
Just replaced my oem with flipped spindles, but can't seem to fit the inner dust seal and the metal out caps to the link pins.
Is this normal?
Thanx.

Inner seals and metal supports yes,
Metal grease caps, no, unless the person modifying them does the necessary changes I used to do, but I bet they won't.

Sorry, bit confused! When you say yes, do you mean yes its normal not to refit them or yes you should refit them?
And what is the metal support? Is that the dished washer with an indent on it. i've put that back on?
My grease cap won't refit over the head of the mushroom on the end of the link pins.
So, can you just reiterate which bits I should refit and which bits I don't.
Thanx.

Fit the grease seal and dished washer that supports the seal.
Don't fit the cap, as your spindles haven't had the necessary clearancing.
