Gearbox replacement
by gtirron » Wed Mar 28, 2018 9:40 am
Finally have the bus back on the road. Gear selection ain't the best. But when warm will not go into 2nd. Looking for a replacement box. I fancy a freeway flyer as the engine is now a lot more powerful. Problem is I can't seem to find any for sale. Anyone know of a good supplier.
Thanks

Might help if you said what type of gearbox you had.

Depending on exactly what's inside that box, you probably won't get much improvement

Probably easier and cheaper to just replace with another 1303s box. Plus your 4th gear has about the best for a lower cruising revs.
Send a pm to “onion” on here (Owen Warlow) as he usually has a few different boxes hanging about.
Or if the van is a keeper, speak to someone like Bears to find out how much to get yours rebuilt, that way you know it’s good for years to come.
