Hi guys looking for a pic of a 56 split bus engine bay showing where the wiring and fuel line goes. Kind regards neil

If you get a Bentley manual, then you'll have all that info and much more.

For a bus or for your single cab? If you're looking for the single cab, these are from my '56 when I pulled the transmission for a rebuild and to spray it with anti-rust wax.
Wiring passes through a pair of holes on the RH side above and to the right of the VIN stamp. The heavy high-current battery wires pass through the leftmost of the holes, the ignition and other wires pass through the rightmost. I have a 'hot start' relay to take the load off the low-current ignition wire, so I have some extra wires in mine.

The fuel pipe passes over the torsion tube just to the left of the nosecone mount. From there it runs up along the underside, terminating in front of the front tin, where the little plastic bag is...
The tube is attached to a little bracket that also supports the clutch cable tube...

On thesamba.com English copy of VW owners manual for 56 shows a little detail of cable clips for battery leads etc.

Thanks guys , am I being thick as I don't seem to have enough wires! I have a 56 single cab . I'm installing a 1600 single port engine.really not sure on what goes where , any pics of this setup would be great, kind regards neil
